Shopping is a task enjoyed by some and dreaded by others, but the way we shop has changed significantly since 1900. This talk will explore some of the big changes to the retail sector throughout the twentieth century and examine how the United States of America has influenced the British public’s shopping habits. From department stores to supermarkets, this talk will delve into the changing experience of shoppers and take a look at what the future may hold for our shopping experience.
