Cody Henry

Cody is a PhD student at the University of Essex. Her research looks at the Lancashire witch trials of 1612, and how the accused witches are represented in historical record and historical fiction, thinking specifically about gender and identity.

Cody would consider herself a cultural, and literary historian, as well as an academic of literature. Her interests tend to be focused on narrative and authorship, monstrosity and the supernatural, the female voice, feminist thinking, masculinity, and sexuality in both history and fiction.

Cody is an avid reader and loves to write, she loves to teach, and is a black belt and qualified Sensei in Ju-Jitsu. Cody also enjoys painting, nature photography, singing, horror movies, and all of the dogs. After completing her PhD, Cody’s next goal is to publish her first novel.
